Hope you have come across the word RFID…Ok, let me give more hint… in James Bond film, you have seen Bond placing a chip into enemy’s overcoat to track his movement .Yes this is Rfid.
The full form of Rfid is Radio Frequency Identification method. This method puts transponders which stores data and remotely retrieve stored data. From Animal tracking to container tracking as in Rfid asset management or library card or credit card tracking all fall into this advanced system.
Now, let us put glance features of RFID…
1) A NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled phone can encode and scan a wristband, which does not require any expensive hardware to be purchased and even can avoid RFID scanners.
2) People claim Rfid is cool, it scans us, remembers us and links us to the systems and provides us discounts in our next food buys, updates our Facebook status , provides cashless transactions. Basically, it gives all touchless or wireless technology, which is very much required in Covid situation like now. It had made us free and unplugged.
3) Workforce management system is also taken care by RFID. Human beings make mistakes by not noticing a replica wristband. Security personnel may overlook it or the bar staffs also give incorrect data, but this RFID gives accurate knowledge and makes the data management system strong.
4) Copying RFID band is difficult, so security is also reliable.
5) RFID has made cashless transactions possible which have made the payers and the organisers happy, since risk of theft is less. Paying in intangible amount has led buyers to more buying powers, giving advantage to the business class.
The main loophole is people do not like RFID because it may take more data, from your private life, than you want. It can give advantage to the hackers too. So, many people refuse to use this system at many cases.
But inventors and manufacturers are using up gradation to avoid such lacunas.
